I don't know about you guys but our family LOVES celebrating Christmas!! We don't just celebrate on Christmas Day, we pretty much start celebrating from Thanksgiving to New Year's! In fact, our tree and the beginning of our decorations were actually up before Thanksgiving! Told you we love Christmas! As a mom, I'm always looking for fun ways to make the holiday more magical for my children! And, let me tell you, I've found a very special tool for adding to your children's Christmas wonder.
I came across the North Pole Communicator in a local Hallmark store and knew I had to tell you about it! Hallmark was even kind enough to share one with YOU!! (Keep reading!) The North Pole Communicator is a microphone that helps you to communicate with the North Pole. Each day, between December 1 and 25, you can call and talk to Santa, one of the elves, Mrs. Claus, a reindeer trainer, etc. You actually have a conversation back-and-forth. Yes, you read that right! Crazy, huh?! It's pretty awesome!
Here is Hallmark's Description of The North Pole Communicator:
"Build anticipation on the days leading up to Christmas with this North Pole Communicator. Starting on December 1, gather the family around every day and dial up the North Pole to have real back-and-forth conversations with the folks who live there—even Santa himself! The entertaining and magical chats will keep kids believing in the spirit of Christmas."
When we received our North Pole Communicator, I wanted to make it the most special experience I could for our kids. So...when the kids fell asleep, I took it out of the packaging and opened the special envelope for Adults Only. The set up was SUPER quick and easy! Seriously took like 2 minutes! Once it was all ready, I turned the little dial to play (I wanted to check it out, too!) Clementine, one of the elves told me to please call back on December 1 because they were busy and couldn't answer right then. My husband and I actually called and listened a few times because it was so cute!
Then, I set it aside and wrote a note to my kids from Santa! I found a cute Santa letter background on pinterest, uploaded it to my document and wrote them a note explaining how they could call to talk to the North Pole each day and how they needed to keep behaving because Christmas is coming soon. (Why not add that in for hopes of a little extra good behavior?!) I set it out that night and when they woke up on December 1, they were SO excited to see Santa had come a little early to bring them a present!! We sat down as a family and called right away!
Calling is super easy, too. You turn the little dial to call. They answer and talk to you for a minute. When you want to respond, you just push the green button, talk back (and can take your time or let your kids each take turns answering), and then, push the button to finish. You can only call once a day, but if your kid calls back again, it just makes a sort of static noise and doesn't reset the clock.
It's become a fun, daily activity that we do as a family with our little advent devotionals. The kids look forward to it every day and beg to do it as soon as they wake up! We don't always do it at the same time each day so Daddy can join us but that's okay. That's another great thing about it: you can call any time of the day! These pictures are from a couple days later when we called, and it was Santa himself on the phone. Hudson was ecstatic! While Reese was standing back in the picture below (because I was taking the pictures!!), she's ususally cuddled up to Hudson to call and participates way more enthusiastically!
This microphone creates a another dimension to the North Pole and brings it home for the kids. It makes it more real and more magical. It gives them something to look forward to each day and something to bring the entire family together. It's not too late to get started!
