Disney On Ice presents Road Trip Adventures!

March 1, 2020

Last night the Ice Queen brought down the house! In one of the final acts in last night's "Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party" Elsa had a packed crowd of Disney fans at T-Mobile Center singing along at the top of their lungs. Our group ranged in ages 2-72, and all of us enjoyed the show equally as much. My sister-in-law and I (age 37) reverted to our 10-year-old selfs, belting out "Under the Sea" and "Be Our Guest" like nobody was watching.

The show's storyline is a quest led by Mickey Mouse and crew, as they follow Captain Hook's treasure map for clues to find Tinker Bell after he attempts to capture her magic. They journeyed across the Marigold Bridge with Miguel from Coco, into the magnificent and mystical Land of the Dead. The music for this act had my sister-in-law rushing back from the bathroom so she didn't want to miss the giant skeletons and performers atop sway poles dancing over the audience in vibrant costumes.

My personal favorite was the Beauty and the Beast performance, where Belle was lifted into the sky as an enchanted chandelier came to life high over the ice. Appearances by Lumiere and Cogsworth had me fan girling like I was 8 again.

The Toy Story cast was a crowd pleaser, as Buzz, Woody and Jessie recruited the Green Army Men for a rescue operation in Andy's room. My daughter loved seeing Moana on her daring voyage across the "ocean", with hilarious appearance by larger than life Maui. These performance were just the tip of the iceberg, as we got to see hundreds of characters over the hour and forty-five minute show. There was a 15 minute intermission, which is just enough time for the kids to take a quick potty break... or beg you for one last snow-cone or bubble wand.

There are still a number of showtimes this weekend, so you can still catch Disney On Ice. Tickets are on sale now and start at just $17.
