These one-hour Sugar Skull workshop is the perfect way to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. The practice of making skulls from sugar is an integral part of the Mexican tradition of celebrating the Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de Muertos). These skulls symbolize honor to the spirits of the dead, who are believed to visit their families on this day. Día de Muertos is celebrated on October 31, November 1, and November 2.
Jenny Mendez, Art Center Director at the Mattie Rhodes Art Center will be leading these workshops. You will have all the supplies needed. All ages welcome when attending with an adult (recommended for ages 5-adult).
Make sure to purchase tickets before they sell out, limited space available. Supplies provided during the workshop: Sugar Skull, Frosting, Sequence. This workshop will be held in the hotel atrium.

Please allot adequate time for parking in the Crossroads. Hotel valet will be available for a special event rate of $5. Street parking is regularly available and there is a public parking garage at Central & 22nd Street that is relatively inexpensive.
