Kids want to cool off, but not sure where to go in Kansas City? There are a TON of splash parks popping up across the city. Here is a list of our top 8 favorite splash pads in the Kansas City area to take kids on these hot summer days. Some will be close to home, and others far away, but we figured you'd want to see them all and maybe even plan a day trip to visit a new one across town!

| Roe Park10400 Roe, Overland Park, Kansas 66207
What to expect: A splash pad, large playground that's good for kids of all ages, a little nature playground area, picnic tables, shelters, benches, and restrooms.
Why we love it: It's a large splash pad that children of all ages can enjoy. Generally clean restrooms, easy parking, and lots to do.
Dates and hours: May 1-Sept. 30 during normal park hours, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Splash pads may occasionally be closed for weather or maintenance.

Loose Park52nd Terrace and Summit Street
What to expect: Mid-size spash pad with benches and shade. Restrooms nearby.
Why we love it: It's in Loose Park which is one of our favorite parks to explore, and it's rarely overcrowded. The Kauffman Memorial Garden is a stone's throw away, and we love to pop in to see what's blooming while we're there.
Dates and hours: Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend
Daily: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

| Thompson Park8045 Santa Fe Dr, Overland Park, KS 66204
What to expect: Smaller splash pad, playground, restroom, loop trail.
Why we love it: The location is close to Strange Hall, so great to grab a lunch and go to the park. Park also has free Wifi, so it's a great spot to work while watching the kids play.
Dates and hours: Splash pads are free to use and are open May 1-Sept. 30 during normal park hours, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Splash pads may occasionally be closed for weather or maintenance.

| Zona Rosa7210 NW 86th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64153
What to expect: Splash pad located in Zona Rosa's Central Park. Climbing structures and playground. Restrooms close. Lots of places to get shade or sit down. Dining within walking distance.
Why we love it: Zona Rosa's Central Park is a great place to play any time of year, but it's best during summer when the fountains are on! Grab lunch from a restaurant at Zona, and picnic in the park before or after you splash. Join Macaroni KID on Thursday mornings all summer for The Coffee Club!
Dates and hours: Open daily from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.

| Lake Olathe Park625 S Lakeshore Dr, Olathe, KS 66061
What to expect: Large spray ground/splash pad. A little walk to the restrooms. Walking in the grass to get to certain areas of the spray ground. Water shoes recommended.
Why we love it: Not trying to play favorites, but if we were, this would be our favorite for the southside of KC. You can literally spend an entire day at this park and not get bored. The spray ground is massive and great for children of all ages. Pack a lunch, lawn chairs, and toys, and make a day trip out of it! Feeling ambitious? Head to Olathe Lake before or after for more water play!

| Dagg Park 2000 Iron Street, North Kansas City, MO 64116
What to expect: Large 5-acre park with an ocean-themed, zero-depth spray ground, shelters, playgrounds and a rope play system. Restrooms available.
Why we love it: There's so much to do at Dagg Park! Another location where you could spend a whole day playing and splashing.
Dates and hours: 7 days a week, 10 am to 8 pm, except for Mondays, opening at 1 pm due to maintenance.

What to expect: A combination of modern playground and nature playground with a splash pad. Restrooms available (short walk)
Why we love it: Lots of shade for parents, great little water features especially for toddlers and preschoolers.
Dates and hours: 10:00am - 8:00pm

| Pierson Park 1800 S 55th St, Kansas City, Kansas 66106
What to expect: Pavillion and good size splash pad, small playground, large fishing lake. Restrooms are available.
Why we love it: This is a quiet park which is nice, and it feels a little more like you're in nature than some of the other local parks.
Dates and hours: This is a mystery, but one could safetly assume between 10am-7pm for sure.
